Inspiration For Sunday, May 11, 2014

Inspiration: A century ago, a Christian doctor was called by God to Africa to do missionary work. This doctor believed in God’s power to heal and protect him. When he arrived in Africa, a plague was killing many people. He demonstrated to the medics God’s power by putting a live sample of the plague bacteria under a microscope. He then placed the live bacteria on his arm, cursed it in the name of Jesus, then moved it back under the microscope. The medics found this same bacteria was now dead. God used this Christian to bring about a tremendous revival of supernatural miracles since he obeyed all God asked him to do.

Inspiration For Saturday, May 10, 2014

Inspiration: A church leader and his wife pray over their taxes and ask God to bless them and to bless the country with their tax money. This was new to me as I had heard most people grumble and complain about taxes. I have watched this couple for close to a decade and because of their diligent attitude with finances, God has richly blessed them and their children.

Inspiration: A businessman sowed financial seeds for the Kingdom of God for six years before his reaping time came. He gave at every offering, helped feed the poor, supported children in poor countries and worked tremendously hard for the Lord year after year but his bank account kept going down and down. He was frustrated to see his bank account go to zero after all he had done for the Lord but it was at that time the Lord started doing financial miracles in his life.

Inspiration: In Columbia, South America, the drug lords have justified the wicked and condemned the just. One church leader, trying to get all the churches to work together in unity, was martyred. Corruption was rampant in the government and police force in this country. The good news is that Christians all over the world are praying for Columbia.

Inspiration: One day a man pulled in to a gas station where my friend worked and said he needed some money as he was broke. He told my friend he would leave his diamond ring as collateral. My friend had a small mirror and tested the diamond ring to see if it would cut the glass in the mirror which it did so my friend thought it was a real diamond. He took the ring and gave the gas station’s money to the man. When the boss heard about it my friend was fired.

Inspiration: We can compare this scripture to the legal system. When criminals commit crimes they have to reap the consequences. However Christians often don’t see this in a positive light. One Bible teacher explained it in terms of seeds. Sow a corn seed and you will reap corn. Sow encouragement and you will reap encouragement. Sow love and you will reap love.

Inspiration: A Bible teacher said that a teachable spirit is one of the greatest attributes to have. This is a blessing, not only in marriage but especially in your walk with God. God wants us to learn our lessons the first time around and not to have them repeated. When I heard this teaching, I felt challenged to have God show me my blind spots (problem areas I was blind to in my life).

Inspiration: A farmer learned the power of his words in Jesus’ name. He had a large useless tree in his field taking up much crop space. One day he cursed this useless tree (just like Jesus cursed the fig tree in Mark 11:21). Six weeks later this tree was stone dead and the farmer knew it was due to his prayer. Decades later, this same farmer had a cancer spot on his liver. He remembered the tree on his farm and he cursed the cancer on his liver at the root and prayed for the disease to be cast out of his body. He believed the word spoken would come to pass and it did. The doctors confirmed there was no liver cancer!
