Inspiration: A newspaper advertisement designer, who was 40 years old at the time, was challenged to attend church. He had never attended any church before so he took up and challenge and went. This helped him to cover all the psalms and proverbs each month. He then joined the choir and wanted to sing intimate love songs to Jesus. Inspiration: One evangelist and his team hold many crusades in Africa. During his outdoor meetings he preaches to thousands. Even witch doctors are hearing the gospel and committing their lives to Christ. In some of these meetings he has a metal furnace to burn things, and he instructs those former witch doctors to burn their evil books and potions. This is a good example of Jesus coming to destroy the work of the devil.

Inspiration: Many high schools teach “safe sex” to their students, but the underlying message to the students is that it is time to start having sex, just do it safely. I was excited to hear about some students of some high schools promoting “No sex till marriage.” These Christians were a great light to their peers. They were popular students so the other students had respect for them and listened to them.

Inspiration: A man said that as a six year old boy, he started reading the Bible each night. He said this habit of reading scripture helped keep him pure from sexual relationships as a teenager. He said it was the constant reading of Proverbs that helped him keep his sexual life under control.

Inspiration: A body builder, who was saved and delivered from drugs, got hold of this scripture and has become a Christian leader praying for people to become free from addictions. A man who had been an alcoholic for seventeen years, came to this leader’s home for prayer. The body builder had trained his children in the ways of the Lord and his three year old child asked to pray for the alcoholic. As the child prayed, the power of God hit the man. He was delivered and set free from his alcoholism.

Inspiration: When I was going through a trying time in my life, a man prayed for me and said “God’s hand is on your life.” This helped me picture God’s hand on my head. Casting down thoughts that exalt themselves against God helps keep the mind clear and peaceful in God’s direction. Inspiration: I have had many poor people ask me for money. Some want money for food and some want money to promote their bad habits. Each time I give to the poor, there is an opportunity to share Jesus with them. For many, it was wiser to give them food rather than money as many of the poor cannot be trusted with money. Preaching the gospel was the most important thing they needed and I was able to pray with most of them. Poor people must learn that God does not want them to be poor as Deuteronomy Chapter 28 says poverty is a curse.

Inspiration: A student did not want to forget God’s Word so he started memorizing scripture. He wrote out passages from scripture on small cards and reviewed them over and over. Inspiration: One church learned a lesson from this scripture during one service. The junior church leader did not consult the senior church leader. Inspiration: When I read this scripture I promised to God I would not murmur. Little did I know that I was about to go through several years of financial testing with very little money coming in. On the days I felt like complaining, I would remember all the children of Israel (aged 20 and over) who, except for Joshua and Caleb, died in the wilderness because of their unbelief. I resolved to be like Joshua and Caleb and not to doubt God’s promises in His Word. It was my prayer time that gave me the insight to realize that God was watching over me, and I that I needed to trust Him to meet my daily needs .

Inspiration: A Christian was dying in hospital after having been hit by a car. His church leader went to the hospital to pray for him. Inspiration: A United Nations delegate told us what it means to be a country’s ambassador. He said you always represent your home country even though you do not live there. Inspiration: The Holy Spirit used this scripture to really convict me of the need for more holiness in my life. It was at a time that I had added too many things to my daily schedule and got too busy for daily Bible study which over a period of time caused me to start falling in love with the world instead of God’s call for my life. I repented of my sin and knew from this mistake that I must always keep on, daily, studying the Bible to grow in faith or else my faith would dwindle. It also helped me see healing in a new light. If the Holy Spirit was dwelling in me and my body was the temple of God, then disease would not be welcome in God’s temple.

Inspiration: One Christian leader was dying of tuberculosis and although many were praying for him he got steadily worse. He had to stop his ministry and move in with his parents as he was getting weaker and weaker. As he was close to death, he said to himself “I am going to walk outside to a certain tree and praise God.” He was so weak he could hardy walk, but he kept praising God and God’s power started to heal him. Inspiration: A student struggled with sexual thoughts even after he had received Jesus into his heart. It got him depressed and he questioned if he was really a child of God since he had so many impure thoughts. He thought that when you were “saved” you got a new mind. What he did not realize was that when you get saved, only your spirit is renewed. You don’t get a new body nor a new mind at that time. This scripture helped him to understand that one’s mind had to be renewed to God’s ways which takes time. Studying the Bible and worshipping Jesus at home and at church helps one renew their mind to the mind of Christ.

Inspiration: A fast food store worker shared his testimony one day. He said at age four, his parents divorced and he lived one year with his mother. His mother didn’t want him and sent him to his Dad. His Dad didn’t want him and sent him to his grandparents. At the age of seven, his grandparents gave up on him and he was moved from foster home to foster home. It was at Christmas time when he shared his story and I wept hearing he had no family that cared about him nor tried to keep in touch with him. Inspiration: In the business world, I had to work with people who would curse and swear and afterwards I often had their swear words rolling around in my head. Although I was able to take authority over the spirit of profanity in my life, I felt I needed to have a talk with one particular colleague. I shared my thoughts in a respectful way and from that day on he stopped cursing Jesus’ name. Later on he asked me more about my faith in Jesus.

Inspiration: My prayer at my job was that I would be like Daniel in the Bible who had “God’s excellence” on him. God blessed my work tremendously to the point where one year I was the top employee among seven different cities. God promoted me by blessing my work and letting me produce much for the company. Every year God blessed my work to the extend I was given free vacations in exotic resort places along with the other top performers from my firm. Inspiration: I have seen many miracles right before my eyes. Healing miracles are awesome but salvation miracles are even greater. One day some people from our church went to a rough neighborhood in town to share Jesus and bring food to the poor. We would pray beforehand to ask God where to send us. A husky tattooed-man drinking beer came up to me on the street one day and started talking. Minutes later he started to cry, and I was able to lead him in prayer to Jesus. It was God’s power that hit him. This showed me that witnessing becomes easier the more time one spends praying in the Holy Spirit before one goes out.

Inspiration: One Bible teacher gave the best definition of grace that I had ever heard. He said today’s language has narrowed that definition down to mercy or unmerited favour. Inspiration: A couple with a tremendous healing ministry, have so much of the anointing of the Holy Spirit on them because of their prayer life. Inspiration: A Bible teacher said the important word to this scripture is believing. He said when you pray, you plant your seed like a farmer. The farmer always expects the seed to grow and talks about the harvest as he knows the harvest will come. So many want to believe after they see the answer but that requires no faith at all. Inspiration: During my teenage years, I would have one foot with Jesus and one foot with the people-pleasing crowd. I was afraid to leave the people pleasers because I was too concerned about what they thought of me rather than what God thought of me.
