Inspiration: The Parents of Jesus, Mary and Joseph are a good example of this scripture.  Joseph was warned three times in dreams.  The first dream was to take Mary to be his wife.  The second was to flee into Egypt as Herod was about to kill the infant Jesus, and the third was to settle in Nazareth after returning from Egypt.  People also get impressions from God when they spend hours in prayer, worshipping Jesus, listening and journaling the scriptures they get from God!

Inspiration: It is very important that all people, especially those in church leadership, to ask for the baptism of Holy Spirit.  I have seen church sub groups, such as the praise and worship team or choir, struggle since they do not know how to flow with Holy Spirit.   This scripture shows that God wants to reveal His power and get all the glory.  Mature worship leaders let Holy Spirit do the leading so that each service is an intimate and powerful encounter with God’s presence.  Many more miracles occur when all flow with Holy Spirit’s plan!

Inspiration: In the Old Testament in the Holy Bible, Joseph was a good example of this scripture.  He was sold by his brothers as a slave to Egypt.  He was falsely accused and ended up in jail for over two years.  However, after he interpreted Pharaoh’s dream, he became second in command of all of Egypt. It was God’s plan to send him ahead and prepare for a great famine.  By God’s gift of the interpretation of dreams, the people were rescued from seven years of famine, including his family.

Inspiration: One Bible teacher explained the definition of meekness.  Today’s society interprets meekness as weakness,  but this teacher said meekness is power in perfect control.  Just like Jesus who could have called on twelve legions of angels in the garden of Gethsemane but instead, submitted Himself to God’s will.  Meekness includes power to hold your tongue from lashing out but only speaking what God shows you to speak!  We need Holy Spirit’s help to clean up what we say!

Inspiration: One church leader from Africa got a vision for his church to feed the poor.  He filled a truck full of food and gave it to the orphan children begging along the road.  At first, all the hungry children tried to climb onto the truck, but after they saw more food coming, they were more orderly in receiving the food.  God has richly blessed this leader and given him funds to construct a new church facility to bless the whole community.  Jesus is really blessing that church.

Inspiration: All of us are at different levels of Christian maturity.  In the Book of Acts, the disciples were ready to give their lives for Jesus.  Even today, missionaries are martyred for their faith.  Others, living in rich countries find it hard to love other people and to believe in miracles.  When I visited a poor country I saw people with great faith in Jesus.  A girl had a knee twice the normal size.  She came(limping) for prayer believing for a miracle.  Right before our eyes Jesus shrunk the swelling and she walked away perfectly well.  She expected a miracle and Jesus met her at her faith level.  Jesus wants His love and faith taken to all nations, to all ages, to all races and to all colors.

Inspiration: When someone told me about the baptism of the Holy Spirit, I was afraid of it based on what my family told me and therefore avoided asking for it.  But I was finally convinced by the Holy Scriptures that it was the will of God for all to have it.  I took courage and asked for this baptism at the end of a service when the leaders were laying hands on people in prayer.  I received it that night and was given a new heavenly prayer language.  This gift has been such a blessing to increase my faith as this scripture says.  It is so powerful not only because it is God’s gift, but because it increases our faith, makes our faith holy, helps to remove selfishness, gives us concern for the lost and helps us shift our priorities to line up with Gods priorities.

Inspiration: I was raised in a church that did not raise their hands during a worship service.  When I went to a service where people worshipped God by lifting up their hands,  I knew this was genuine worship but I had so much pride and self dignity I was afraid to lift my hands.  I was challenged by the preacher to worship God in a way that would be pleasing to Him. It was then that I saw myself as a three year old stretching up my hands to God for a hug while closing my eyes so I can focus on the throne room of God.

Inspiration: A businessman had just become a Christian and started reading the Bible daily. One day at a restaurant, his brother asked him a question about going to heaven.  This businessman didn’t know what to say and bowed his head and asked God "How should I answer this question?"  As soon as he had finished asking God that question, he found himself saying almost without thinking,  "If you confess me before men, I will confess you before the Father,  if you deny me before men I will deny you before the Father."  The businessman man was amazed as it seemed God spoke Luke 12:8-9 word for word directly through him to his brother.

Inspiration: One Bible teacher challenged us to visit hospitals, to visit the sick, to read the Bible to the elderly in nursing homes, to visit prisoners in jail and to feed and clothe the poor.  I had never visited prisons before so I was nervous about it at first.  However I asked God for courage and went along with people who had done it before.  After sharing the gospel with those in prison, I saw them as redeemed children of God.  I saw how they really needed people like us to come and cheer them up with the Gospel of Jesus.  Later we went to a nursing home where we read the Bible which brought life to those elderly faces.  In doing these things my eyes were opened to a hurting world as I saw how selfish I was in my own little world.

Inspiration: A man lost his wife and eldest son in a car crash when someone ran a stop sign and crashed into the side of them.  A while later, he took a course on "How to share Jesus" and I sat beside this same man who has become a dear friend.  When he shares his story of the tragic accident, he tells them:  "I give thanks to God for the years I had with my wife and my son as those were gifts from God."  He was very close to his wife and family.  People are amazed that he is not bitter or angry against God in any way.  I  have shared his testimony with many people who have lost a loved one for them to thank God for the time they had with that loved one.  Each day we are alive, is a gift from God.

Inspiration: A passenger plane was circling the airport trying to land for a long time before the captain came over the intercom to prepare for an emergency landing.  A Christian, on board, heard God ask him to pray for the plane’s landing gear as that Christian saw a blueprint vision of the landing gear and the hydraulic fluid was empty.  The plane made a perfect landing and all the passengers saw that the runway was lined with fire trucks.  This Christian spoke to the pilots afterwards and pilots said the hydraulic fluid had leaked out of the landing gear so were attempting a belly land without wheels.  However miraculously, they said, the hydraulic tanks for the landing gear filled up again and the landing gear came out and locked just as the plane touched down.

Inspiration: A missionary couple that looked after children in a Christian camp were praying one day and received wisdom from God to pray the blood of Jesus around the perimeter of the property.  They obeyed God and walked around the camp praying not knowing why they were praying this way.  A few days later some dead foxes were found right on the perimeter of this Christian camp.  When the authorities examined the foxes, they found all of them had rabies. This couple believed that the Blood of Jesus had protected them from someone who was trying to send in the rabid foxes to bite the children to close the camp.

1)  When a baby learns to walk it stumbles and gets back and goes into the parents arms – so when you stumble in your Christian walk, run back to Jesus asking forgiveness for a baby Christian does not become an adult Christian over night

2)  Look at the things that cause you to sin, maybe TV, magazine, internet, movies, certain friends, parties – then ask Holy Spirit’s help to start separating your self from sinful traps of the devil and spend that time with Jesus instead

3)  Get a new set of friends that will pray with you on the phone and you study the Bible together during the week and pray for each other

4)  Learn from children in their child like faith- they just trust God with no unbelief – increase your faith to that level as you retrain your thinking to be in line with the Bible not the ways of the world

Important Action To Take:

1) Attend a Bible-believing church where Jesus is worshipped as Lord and Savior and the Son of God. Get involved and fellowship with mature Christians. Believe God’s thoughts of love and goodness towards you.   Be teachable and not judgemental as all the church people are not perfect, only Jesus us perfect!

2) Search daily for promises in the Bible and apply them right away.

3) Talk to Jesus every day. Listen to God’s ways and obey His plan for you. Worship God with all your heart and make Him first priority in all.

4) Increase continually your love and faith in God and stay away from things that cause you to stumble into sin. This may mean a new set of friends

5) Submit to God’s authority, Jesus’ leadership and the power of the Holy Ghost.

Inspiration: A president of a Christian organization explained this scripture this way saying "Where do all gifts come from?  Who made your brain?  What makes your heart beat every second?"  How can we boast of even the tinniest things when God has given us all things?  Each person that is close to us is also a gift from God!  We need to stop those who boast about us and have them boast only about God!

Inspiration: The apostle Paul is a good example of this scripture.  He was constantly persecuted from city to city as told in the Book of Acts.   More than forty men even made a pact not to eat or drink until they had killed Paul.  However, the Lord also delivered Paul safely out of that situation.  By studying the book of Acts, you will see countless times the enemy tried to kill Paul and God rescued him for He was obedient to God’s plans.

Inspiration: A newspaper advertisement designer, who was 40 years old at the time, was challenged to attend church.  He had never attended any church before so he took up and challenge and went.  At this church he was convicted of God’s love and truth he committed his life to Jesus.  After his conversion to Christ, he started diligently reading a proverb and five psalms a day from the Holy Scriptures.  This helped him to cover all the psalms and proverbs each month.  He then joined the choir and wanted to sing intimate love songs to Jesus.  Speaking psalms and singing hymns has given him new strength in his life.

Inspiration: One evangelist and his team hold many crusades in Africa.  During his outdoor meetings he preaches to thousands.  Even witch doctors are hearing the gospel and committing their lives to Christ.  In some of these meetings he has a metal garbage cans for people to get rid of their satanic things, and he instructs those former witch doctors to destroy their evil books and potions.  This is a good example of Jesus coming to destroy the work of the devil however it is up to us to learn the authority of the Christian believer.  We have authority over our lives but do not have authority over other’s lives or over other’s property.  They have to make the choice to renounce the evil deeds of the devil and commit their lives 100% to Jesus!

Inspiration: Many high schools teach "safe sex" to their students, but the underlying message to the students is that it is time to start having sex, just do it safely which is against God’s Word.   I was excited to hear about some students of some high schools promoting "No sex till marriage." These Christians were a great light to their peers.  They were popular students so the other students had respect for them and listened to them.  Parents with good looking teenagers have an extra responsibility to teach their children to be an example of God for good and not for evil since others will copy what they do!

Inspiration: A man said that as a six year old boy, he started reading the Bible each night.  He said this habit of reading scripture helped keep him pure from sexual relationships as a teenager.  When he was tempted, he would be able to look ahead at the future and see how this sin would wreck his life and his relationship with the Lord.  He said it was the constant reading of Proverbs that helped him keep his sexual life under control.  At 23 he threw out his TV.  He teaches his flesh through fasting and prayer to abstain from all appearances of evil especially the thoughts of sexual impurity!

Inspiration: A body builder, who was saved and delivered from drugs, and herpes got hold of this scripture and has become a Christian leader praying for people to become free from addictions.  A man who had been an alcoholic for seventeen years, came to this leader’s home for prayer.  The body builder had trained his children in the ways of the Lord and his three year old child asked to pray for the alcoholic.  As the child prayed, the power of God hit the man.  He was delivered and set free from his alcoholism.  We all need to have faith of a child to believe and not doubt!

Inspiration: When I was going through a trying time in my life, a man prayed for me and said "God’s hand is on your life."  This helped me picture God’s hand on my head.  I also thought about this scripture.  God looks after the birds of the air so surely He looks after me.  I am so thankful that God watches over His children so closely.  My relationship with the Heavenly Father has taken on a new intimacy where I see Him holding my hand in every situation.  I need to hear Holy Spirit’s warnings to stay away from things that will cause me to sin!

Inspiration: I committed my life to Jesus and wanted to mature in my walk with Him.  As the years passed, He showed me that my compassion for others needed to grow.  It was easy to love the lovable but what about those people who would always needle me, who were all set to get into an argument, and still others who would attack me.  These were tests from the Lord that I needed to pass, as God was telling me to bless those who persecute me and pray for those who treat me poorly.  Treating prayer as a passionate love affair with Jesus helps increase my faith and love seeing things from God’s perspective!

That thought blessed me as it got me thinking about always growing in the call God has for our lives which also enlightens our path.  It also means balance that we cannot burn out doing work for God and neglect out family!  Providing for family is our #1 priority before winning souls!  We also have to rest our bodies choosing one day week to have a Sabbath rest in the Lord so we can listen to Jesus during those resting times!

Inspiration: A Bible teacher taught on discernment one day.  He explained that thoughts come from three sources: 1. God, 2. the devil and 3. Self  (you can generate your own thoughts or hear what others say.)  This scripture can be used to analyze your thought life and immediately discern the source of a thought when it enters your mind.  Casting down thoughts that exalt themselves against God helps keep the mind clear and peaceful in God’s direction.  Hebrews 4:12 says the reading of the Word of God is needed to discern between right and wrong.  We need to know what is right and wrong from God’s perspective.  Holy Spirit has been given to us to help us each hour if we stop and listen to Him!  He always agrees 100% with the Bible since He inspired the Bible!

Inspiration: I have had many poor people ask me for money.  Some want money for food and some want money to promote their bad habits.  Each time I give to the poor, there is an opportunity to share Jesus with them.  For many, it was wiser to give them food rather than money as some of the poor cannot be trusted with money.  Preaching the gospel was the most important thing they needed and I was able to pray with most of them.  Poor people must learn that God does not want them to be poor. Deuteronomy Chapter 28 says poverty is a curse.

Inspiration: A student did not want to forget God’s Word so he started memorizing scripture.  He wrote out passages from scripture on small cards and reviewed them over and over.  This helped build faith in his life as the scriptures were so ingrained in him that he would use them to help make all his decisions.  The memorized scriptures also helped guard against fear and anxiety and helped when witnessing to the lost so that he gave exact chapter and verse to people for them to search the scriptures themselves!

Inspiration: One church learned a lesson from this scripture during one service.  The junior church leader did not consult the senior church leader.  He asked some members of the congregation to play some special music for the service while the senior leader had brought in outside musicians.  When two different musical groups arrived together before the service to practise, everyone was in confusion.

Inspiration: When I read this scripture I promised to God I would not murmur.  Little did I know that I was about to go through several years of financial testing with very little money coming in.  On the days I felt like complaining, I would remember all the children of Israel (aged 20 and over) who, except for Joshua and Caleb, died in the wilderness because of their unbelief.  I resolved to be like Joshua and Caleb and not to doubt God’s promises in His Word.  It was my prayer time that gave me the insight to realize that God was watching over me, and I that I needed to trust Him to meet my daily needs instead of trusting in a bank account!

Inspiration: A Christian deacon was dying in hospital after having been hit by a car when crossing the street.  His church leader went to the hospital to pray for him.  On the way God spoke to this church  leader and said, "This man will die unless he changes the vision of his life."  When the church leader got to the hospital, he spoke to the sick man, he asked him what vision he saw of himself.  The sick man said:  "I am dying."  The leader said you will die unless you change your vision to line up with God’s vision in His Word.  They prayed and asked the sick man to see God’s vision for his life.  The sick man said: " I see it now, I will live."  The sick man was healed by Jesus and left hospital shortly after that.

Inspiration: A United Nations delegate told us what it means to be a country’s ambassador.  He said you always represent your home country even though you do not live there.  He explained how similarly,  Christians are to represent God and Jesus Christ instead of themselves.  Their real homeland is heaven, but they have been given a space of time to evangelize the planet earth before being eternally with God in heaven.  The older you get, the more you see how short a time on earth really is and that you need to make your life count for Jesus doing His Will!

Inspiration: Holy Spirit used this scripture to really convict me of the need for more holiness in my life.  It was at a time that I had added too many things to my daily schedule and got too busy for daily Bible study which over a period of time caused me to start falling in love with the world instead of God’s call for my life.  I repented of my sin and knew from this mistake that I must always keep on, daily, studying the Bible to grow in faith or else I would become a lukewarm Christian which is a bad example.  It also helped me see healing in a new light.  If Holy Spirit was dwelling in me and my body was the temple of God, then disease should be cast out of God’s temple with the prayer of faith in Jesus’ powerful name!

Inspiration: A missionary couple from the Philippines spoke at our church. They proved this scripture is true as they have been doing missionary work for twenty years and God has blessed them with seven children, all of whom are training to become missionaries.  They are all hungry to help the lost come to Jesus.  I have met 2 other Christian couples with 6 children each and all of their children are following the Lord.  These parents raised their kids to hear the voice of the Lord and follow the path Jesus had for them.

Inspiration: One teacher said "God is a good God and the devil is a bad devil."  This helped me realize that God is love and doesn’t torture us with bad things to discipline us.  It is the devil who tempts us and if we give in to him, he becomes the tormentor and blames it all on God.  The devil is the designer of all sickness, disease, mental torment and poverty.  God put us in charge to take authority over the devil in Jesus’ mighty name and to cast Him out.
